Accreditation

Middle Way Acupuncture Institute and its Master of Acupuncture program [currently named Diploma in Acupuncture] are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM).

ACAHM is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the specialized accreditation agency for institutions/programs preparing acupuncture and herbal medicine practitioners. The Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine program offered by Middle Way Acupuncture Institute is approved to begin enrolling students but is not accredited or pre-accredited by ACAHM. This program is eligible for ACAHM accreditation, and Middle Way Acupuncture Institute is currently in the process of seeking ACAHM accreditation for the program. However, the Institute can provide no assurance that accreditation will be granted by ACAHM. Graduates of an unaccredited program are not considered to have graduated from an ACAHM-accredited program and may not rely on ACAHM accreditation for professional licensure or other purposes.
 
Middle Way Acupuncture Institute is approved by the Washington State Department of Health, Health Professions, Acupuncture Program and is licensed under Chapter 28C.10. Selected programs of study at Middle Way Acupuncture Institute are approved by the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board’s State Approving Agency (WTECB/SAA) for enrollment of those eligible to receive benefits under Title 38 and Title 10, USC.

Completion of the program has been determined to meet the Washington State educational requirements for licensure. It does not meet the requirements for professional licensure in California or Nevada.  Professional licensure requirements have not been determined for any other states.  Meeting licensure requirements for all other states may be determined with the Registrar on a case by case basis.
