Application Process
1. Visit Our School
Before submitting an application, we encourage you to explore our website and speak with our Director of Student Services.
We invite you to:
- Tour our Mount Vernon campus
- Sit in on a portion of a class
- Receive a complimentary treatment in our teaching clinic

2. Submit Your Application
Apply to the program of your choice:
Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine (CCHM)
Now enrolling for Fall 2026
Master’s Level Diploma in Acupuncture (MAc)
Now enrolling for Fall 2026
- Once you begin your application, you can save your progress and return to it later.
- Before you submit your application, a $100 application fee must be paid online.
3. Gather Required Transcripts and Materials
After the Registrar receives your completed application, they will inform you about the materials needed based on the program you applied to:
- For the MAc Program:
- Sealed official transcripts from all schools listed in your application
- Two letters of recommendation
- For the CCHM Program
- Official transcripts indicating completion of the equivalent of semesters 1 – 3 of the MWAI MAc program
- Proof of licensure as appropriate
- A completed release of information form (download here)
4. Admissions Interview
Once the Registrar receives all necessary documents
- They will contact you to schedule an interview with either the Executive Director or the Director of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Studies.
- In the interview, you will have the chance to review the program details you are interested in and ask any questions you may have.
- The Director will want to hear about your interest in pursuing a career in acupuncture and your reasons for choosing Middle Way.
5. Admission Decisions and Rolling Enrollment
- The Admissions team meets twice monthly to evaluate applicants with all materials submitted and interviews completed.
- An admission decision will be made within one month of the evaluation. If approved, acceptance packages will be emailed to applicants.
- Applicants will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis until the class limit is reached.
- Once a class has filled, applicants’ names will be added to a waiting list
- Applicants will be informed of their position on the waiting list and notified if space becomes available
- If space is not available, those on the waiting list may elect to defer until the following year.
6. Pay Your Deposit
Once you are accepted, you will receive an enrollment package. To secure your seat, please submit a non-refundable registration deposit of $500 along with your signed Enrollment Agreement.
